Send some email, do some good.

Emma 25 - Email marketing accounts for nonprofitsThat’s the motto for our Emma 25 program, the annual initiative where Emma customers tell us about the great non-profits in their communities, and we pick 25 and award them with a free email marketing account, html email template, and service that’s renewable year after year. In its fourth year, we hope that giving away free accounts through Emma 25 makes it easier for deserving charities to get the word out about what they’re doing, stay in touch with donors, organize events and do even more great work.

And these organizations are all about great work. They’re doing all sorts of fabulous things, like organizing a 4000-mile bike ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska to raise money for cancer research, providing cost-free arts programs to underprivileged kids in Australia and raising money to fight hunger in Massachusetts, just to name a few. For the complete list of this year’s Emma 25 honorees, including their websites, visit the Emma 25 landing page.

Oh, and here are some Emma staffers who pitched in to help with the selection process, standing in front of the infamous Emma 25 Selection Process Whiteboard. We really should think about a new name for that. From left to right: Christina Griffith, Cliff Corr, Gina LaMar, Kathleen Cotter and Suzanne Norman. Thanks to Laura Key and Dave Delaney for helping as well, although we have to give them the dreaded “not pictured” label.

I’d like to nominate http://www.unfetteredmind.org for the Emma 25 program. This non-profit provides wonderful, accessible teachings on mediation free of charge.

  2. Suzanne Says:

Thanks for the comment, Ann, and for letting us know about the great work Unfettered Mind is doing. The nomination window for this year has passed, but we’ll launch our 5th annual Emma 25 program near the end of 2008. Any Emma customer is welcome to nominate a charity, and you can stay up to speed on the program’s launch through our Emma APBs. Sign up for them here, if you’re not already on the list: http://app.e2ma.net/app/view:Join/signupId:2501. Thanks again for your interest!

Hi there! Thank you for the update. I’d also like to give you a heads-up regarding an incredible organization doing children’s rights work in Uganda. It’s the Uganda Child Rights NGO Network (www.ucrnn.org). They are a membership based organization of 100 members throughout Uganda fighting for children’s rights. Especially in Uganda since it’s been frought with war and conflict - children have been taken as child soldiers, have been brutally murdered, taken as sex slaves, forced to rape and kill innocent civilians and have been denied the basic of human dignity. This organization tirelessly is working with their members to eradicate this violence and give a vioce to the children of Uganda.

    Warm Regards-

Hi Esther, it’s great to hear about the network that’s banded together to help fight violence in Uganda. Be sure and stay in touch to nominate the UCRNN for an Emma 25 account next year (or, if you’re not an Emma customer, find someone with an Emma account who’ll be willing to nominate them on your behalf). Thanks again for the note…

My vote for the new name of the Emma 25 Strategic Whiteboard is the “OcEmmic 25″.

Christian Sportsmen’s Fellwoship launched a program in 1999 for physically challenged youth called Special Youth Challenge events. I would like to submit an article published recently in our magazine The Christian Sportsman. The article highlights the lifetime dream experience of at least 55 boys and girls ages 12-17 that have been privilege to travel to Legends Ranch to hunt mature whitetail bucks. The excitement and joy that is found in the families of the young sportsmen is fantastic.

Please inform me as to how I might submit te article to you either via email or sending a copy of the publication through snail mail. Thank you.

    Hi Richard,

We would be happy to read more about the Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship, if you’d like to email your article to hi@myemma.com. If you’re interested in the Emma 25 program, see our comment to Esther on this same page or visit http://www.myemma.com/emma25 for more details.

How does one get their non-profit in the running for the pro-bono services? We are very technologically and financially challenged and desperately need the help. Thanks for any information you can give me.

  9. Suzanne Says:

    Hi Bettina,

Our Emma 25 program awards 25 email marketing accounts to 25 nonprofits every year. We typically start accepting nominations through the months of October and November. In order to be considered, your organization has to be nominated by a current Emma customer, so ask your friends and colleagues if they’re using Emma so you’ll be ready when the nomination window opens up. Feel free to subscribe to our email newsletter that’ll let you know when it’s time for the 2008 Emma 25 program to start: http://app.e2ma.net/app/view:Join/signupId:2501. And thanks for your interest in the program, Bettina…
