Send some email, plant some (more) trees.
Every month, we plant 5 trees for each new customer who chooses Emma for their email marketing efforts. Last month, you voted to plant 1,685 trees in beautiful Georgia, and now it’s time to decide where to put March’s little forest. And not to worry – we partner with Plant-It 2020 for our planting efforts, so these are indigenous trees – planted in non-harvest locations – which are cared for and protected their whole lives. All that’s left to do now is decide where they go, and that’s your job, compadre:
Where should July's trees be planted?
- Ohio (34%, 12 Votes)
- New York (29%, 10 Votes)
- Oregon (20%, 7 Votes)
- Rhode Island (17%, 6 Votes)
Total Voters: 35
How about British Columbia?!
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, beautiful British Columbia isn’t currently listed as one of the non-harvest locations approved by Plant-It 2020. You can see the list (and request a new site!) here: http://www.plantit2020.org/locations.html.
Our teen organization builds homes (13 to date) in the dump in Tijuana where trees are scarce. We think it would be amazing to line the streets that are currently covered with trash and replace the trash with nice boxes to plant the trees in. We have constructed a community center for the kids and are trying to improve this rock and dirt road.
Hi Mike,
Sounds like you guys are up to some fabulous work! Our tree planting program (through Plant-It 2020 – http://www.plantit2020.org) lets us plant trees in the non-harvest locations that they pre-approve. There are several other organizations, though, that let you purchase seedlings individually and plant them wherever *you* choose. Here are a few suggestions. Just remember to ask for a species of tree that’s indigenous to Tijuana: http://forestry.about.com/cs/catalogs/a/best_seedling_s.htm.
Happy planting!
Suzanne
I’m good with where ever the trees go! It’s a fantastic program and makes my choice to work with you guys even that much sunnier (shadier?) :-)
Thanks, Kathleen! Sometimes it’s really nice to be called shady. :)
Please plant more in Tennessee where the tornados tore them out.
Hi, Robert. Thank you very much for your reply. Emma is actually based in Nashville, so we certainly appreciate the need for more trees after the tornadoes. The organization we work with is Plant-It 2020, and our choice of where to plant trees is limited to their list of non-harvest locations: http://www.plantit2020.org/locations.html. Fortunately, Tennessee is listed on the site and was the winner of an earlier poll for March’s 1,780 trees, so some tornado “releaf” should be on its way soon.
We also just posted the poll for where May’s trees will go, so click the “Share This” button in the blog post, and tell your friends about it. Every vote counts!
